복음서적 제자훈련과 사도행전적 제자훈련(Individual-Centered and Church-Centered Discipleship)-영어/한글
There are two kinds of discipleship training modeled in the New Testament. One is the method utilized by Jesus to train His disciples. This method can be represented by several concentric circles; in the center is Jesus, the circle surrounding Him includes Peter, James and John, the next circle the rest of the Twelve, the next circle 72 disciples who were sent out by Jesus [Luke 10:1], and so on.
The word “disciples” only appears in the Gospels and in Acts, not in the Epistles. I think the reason for the absence is that discipling methods changed. The principal agent of discipling was changed from individuals to the church.
In some Christian circles, individual-centered discipleship is still used. An individual makes another individual a disciple, who in turn makes another a disciple.
Through House Church, church-centered discipleship is employed. Members invite unbelievers to their house church. Shepherds serve and care for them. Pastors help them accept Jesus. Bible class leaders help them grow spiritually. Because unbelievers become Jesus’ disciples through the concerted efforts of the entire church, they can’t call themselves the disciple of any particular individual. They are disciples of the church.
The individual-centered discipleship model can produce a few elite disciples but is unable to make all church members disciples. The goal of the Biblical Church is for every member to become a disciple. For this purpose, church-centered discipleship training is more appropriate.

제자 훈련이란 문자 그대로 예수님의 제자가 되도록 훈련시키는 것입니다. 성경에는 두 가지 제자 훈련이 있습니다.
‘복음서적 제자훈련’은 복음서에 기록된 예수님의 제자훈련 방식입니다. 핵심에는 카리스마 있는 개인이 있고, 동심원을 그리듯이 제자들을 키워냅니다. 예수님의 경우에는 예수님이 핵심이고, 첫 동심원에 베드로, 요한, 야고보가 속해 있고, 다음 동심원에 나머지 열두 사도, 다음 동심원에 전도 여행에 보냄 받은 72명의 제자가[누가 10:1] 속해 있습니다. 이 제자 훈련 방법에는 누가 누구의 제자인지가 분명하고, 제자 계보를 그릴 수 있습니다. 대학생 선교 단체에서 많이 사용되고 있는 훈련 방식입니다.
‘사도행전적 제자 훈련’의 핵심에는 교회가 있습니다. 개인이 제자를 만들어내지 않고 교회가 제자를 만들어냅니다. 이것이 초대 교회의 제자 훈련 방식입니다. 복음서와 사도행전에 등장하는 제자라는 단어가 서신서에 등장하지 않는 이유는, 예수님이 지상에 계실 때에는 복음서적인 제자 훈련 방식이 사용되었지만, 부활하시고, 승천하시고, 성령을 보내서 교회를 시작한 후에는, 사도행전적인 제자 훈련 방식이 사용되었기 때문이라고 생각합니다.
가정교회에서는 사도행전적 제자 훈련을 사용하고 있습니다. 예를 들어, 비신자들은 목장 식구들에 의하여 목장에 초청을 받습니다. 목장에서 목자 목녀의 섬김을 받으면서 교회에 대한 거부감과 오해가 사라지고 신앙생활에 관심이 생깁니다. 담임 목사가 인도하는 ‘생명의삶’이라는 기초 성경공부를 수강하며 복음을 깨닫고 예수님을 영접합니다. 다양한 교사들이 인도하는 성경 공부를 통해 양육을 받습니다. 그렇기 때문에 어떤 특정인의 제자라고 말할 수가 없습니다. 교회의 제자입니다.
복음서적인 제자 훈련을 교회에 도입하여 어느 정도의 열매를 맛보는 목회자들이 있습니다. 그러나 소수의 엘리트들을 제자로 만들수 있을지 모르지만, 교인 전체를 제자로 만들지는 못합니다. 모든 성도를 제자로 만들려면 사도행전적인 제자 훈련 방법을 사용해야 합니다.
