(4) Postmodernism
1) It is no longer accepted that there is such a thing as objective truth that can be accessed by reason.
2) Instead there is a recognition that everyone's perspective is coloured by their starting point and that we cannot escape a certain amount of subjectivity. Also, claims to objective or absolute truth are regarded as oppressive attempts to maintain power and control over others.
3) These means that the vertical relationship has been corrupted, and accordingly deconstruction system has been emerged.
4) All of these changes have profoundly challenged Christian theology. Underlying them is the rejection of authority.
