ÀåºÎ¿µ  2009-01-04 16:33:48, Á¶È¸ : 2,307

(4) Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965)

1) He was born in 1875 at Alsace where had been fighting between Deutsch and France. His father was pastoring in Deutsch at those times. He largely studied at Strasburg University under the lead of Holtmann.

2) He had made determination to serve as a medical missionary. In 1905 he started to study on the medicine (1905-1912).

3) During this time he wrote several major works, one of which was "The Quest of Historical Jesus," Its addition was published in 1913.

4) He called the 'doctrine of Mark' (Wrede) as the 'doctrine of Jesus' of which elements were obviously 'historical ones'. He therefore emphasized the historical element about Jesus Christ.

5) He said that Jesus was a man to proclaim the future kingdom to the people who did not enter the kingdom. But Jesus himself had convinced that he would be a minister for the people to prepare for the kingdom of God, and if did so, he expected to be the its rule. He also said that Jesus had been fully possessed by such an ideology.

6) He insisted that after all Jesus had failed to pursue his task for completing the kingdom of God, Schweitzer said, "Jesus thought himself to be the Son to come, and so he was going to steer the vehicle of history toward the end of the world in accordance with his will, but he failed". He asserted that such failure had made Jesus' flesh to be torn on the cross.

7) He said that the fact he was messiah was secret. He said that at first, Jesus presented this secret his messianic status only to the three disciples: Peter, Jacob and John.

8) After that Peter presented this secret to the twelve disciples at Philippus. This secret was presented to Judas Iscariot and at the last time known to the Chief Priest.
