INTRODUCTION

There are lots of book which have been written on the history of the Christian thought in the world because the Christian thought has ruled over the world. Therefore we need to read many books on the history of Christian thought.

(1) We need to read about the past in order to understand the present.
How to view the past: two ways:
1) As a mirror: inter-directional method (narrow view)
2) As a window: outer-directional (broad view)

(2) We need to read about the past in order to understand the future.
How to view the future: two ways:
1) Past oriented method (negative view)
2) Future oriented method (positive view)

(3) We have to understand the views of the history of the world.
1) The view of cyclic history: Greek and Rome
2) The View of lineal history: Hebrew/Christianity.

(4) We have to understand the fields of history: various fields.
1) Political history
2) Economical history
3) Religious history
4) Cultural history
6) Historical themes
7) Historical persons

(5) We have to understand historical stream: its current/rhythm/trend.
