.
[THE FAITH OF A WOMAN]
(John 4:4-25)

The text of today is: Jesus left Judea and departed again to Galilee. But He needed to go through Samaria. For the rest from the wearied from His journey He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. And then the Samaritan woman met Jesus at the well side, And she could not being upset by surprise meet with Jesus Christ.

There were several reasons: Firstly, Jesus was a strange Jew. secondly, Jews had no dealing with Samaritans, thirdly, she met with a strange young man at a quite place. In this situation the strange Jew young man said to her without hesitation ¡°give Me a drink.¡± Really who is this man saying to me ¡°give me a drink?¡± She asked in turn ¡°How is it that You being a Jew ask a drink from me a Samaritan woman?(4:9).

Here Jesus indirectly introduced Himself to the Samaritan woman. ¡°If you knew the gift of God and who it is who says to you give Me a drink you would have asked Him and He would have given you living water.¡± When the Samaritan woman, she was very concerned about who He is, and she began to closely approach to him. And Jesus led her to know who He is, therefore the Samaritan woman did at once know and accept Him and to be saved.

The Samaritan woman accepted Jesus Christ, and went out to diligently speak the words of Jesus Christ. By the way, who is He giving the great Hope to her who was indefinitely living everyday suffering from the sins in this world.
