We hear it often said that it’s never too late to do the right thing.
Thank God for that. But I’ve been unsettled recently, reflecting on the reverse: how we’re never beyond being corrupted. Being seduced into selling our souls. They say we all have a price. We can all be had.
우리는 종종 옳은 일을 하기에 결코 너무 늦지 않았다고 하는 말을 듣는다. 이것에 대하여 하나님께 감사하라. 그러나 나는 근래 불안해 하고 역으로 반응하고 있다: 어떻게 우리가 타락을 결코 극복할 수 없는가. 우리는 우리의 영혼들을 파는 일에 대해 유혹을 받고 있다. 그들은 말하기를 우리 모두 어떤 귀중한 가치를 가지고 있다. 우리는 모두 그 가치를 누릴 수 있다.
