[A hard saying to understand] (14) (What is the conviction of salvation?) ¨è (±¸¿øÀÇ È®½Å) ¨è

[A hard saying to understand] (14) (What is the conviction of salvation?) ¨è
Problem is that most saints misunderstand or confuse with the conviction of salvation. There are three types of the people understanding the conviction of salvation: (1) the people who have the conviction of salvation by the Holy Spirit, (2) the people who have the wrong conviction of salvation by self-misunderstanding, (3) the people who have no conviction of salvation from the beginning. Of course, problem is that the people have no conviction of salvation, but an even bigger problem is that the people are possessed with the illusion that they themselves have the conviction of salvation in spite of no true conviction of salvation. The Bible says that the people who were born again by the Holy Spirit and have the conviction of salvation would be guaranteed for their salvation. (Rom. 8:38; I Thess. 1:5; Matt. 10:20; Mark 13:11; Rom. 8:16).

By the way, today many believers do not recognize and doubt whether or not they have been saved and have the conviction of salvation because they have no firm witness of the solid conviction of salvation. They must confess the faith that they have been saved because the Bible speaks of the conviction of salvation, nevertheless, they can not confess the faith that \\\"we have been saved\\\" because they do not certainly understand the significance of the conviction of salvation written in the Bible. The conviction of salvation does not come out of human intelligence or human feeling. And also it cannot be realized by any education and training. These cannot give the conviction of salvation. It must be theologically understood in two dimensions:

(1) Firstly, it must be understood in ontological dimension.
In this case, the people cannot recognize the conviction of salvation through their brain (intelligence) because their faith has not yet grown like baby. In other words, it means that they do not logically understand the conviction of salvation. Nevertheless, they make no doubt ontologically about the children of God, because they have already born again by the word of God and the Holy Spirit. For example, one who is born of the blood of Mr. Kim must be the son of Mr. Kim. Nevertheless he does not recognize that he is Kim's son, and Mr. Kim is his father while he is a baby. But he can recognize Mr. Kim as his father according to the his growing up in the body and soul. Man is not different between baby and adult in nature.

The people who were born again in the Spirit, the water, and the blood of Jesus must be the children of God. Problem is that it is difficult to certainly prove whether or not they themselves have been saved. But even if so, it cannot be said that they do not have been saved. They already have ontologically become the children of God, therefore, it can never be reversed. This means not the change of personality but the change of an existence(new creature) as the whole body including soul and flesh. As a man could not forsake his children who were borne of his blood, so God would not forsake His children who were borne again of the blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit(¿äÀÏ 3:9; 5:18). The believers have redemption through the blood of Jesus on the Cross, forgiveness of all sins (peccatum originale and peccatum actuale, Col. 1:14; Luke 7:47). Of course, the believers may be temporally chastened due to their actual sins, but they would not be forsaken everlastingly(È÷ 12:5-13).

(2) Secondly, it must be understood in the epistemological dimension.
As mentioned above, the believers who were born again could be at all steadfast and immovable because the conviction of salvation has been deeply taken root in their heart and soul. Of course, the believers may not be able to logically or theologically prove and speak of their conviction of salvation when they have the elementary belief even though they already have been borne again in the Holy Spirit. In other words, even if they just could not theologically explain their conviction of salvation that they believe themselves to be the children of God, it must be rooted in their heart even while they are unconscious because the Holy Spirit already has been indwelling in their heart.

Although they could not theologically prove that they have the conviction of salvation even after being new creature, it could be deleted from their mind. But they could baldly speak of the conviction according to growth of spiritual intelligence through the words of God. The Bible says, \\\"For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.\\\"(Rom. 10:10) For instance, man cannot recognize his mother and father at the time of new born infant(baby), nevertheless he does instinctively trust in them. According to growing physically and spiritually, he obviously can call his mother and father as \\\"mama\\\" and \\\"papa.\\\" In the light of epistemology he may not yet definitely confess himself the son of God, but the salvation by the regeneration through the Holy Spirit must never gone out.
