💗A Brief Message on the Calling of God (1)💗 (영문/한글)
I was saved by the calling of God, and then became a servant of God the Lord. I had been to the church in my boyhood, and yet, after that I had not been to the church for many years, and then had wandered all over the secular world. After that, I was called again by the Lord in the hospital during the critical period. This was the second calling(?). Systematic theologically speaking, I was called by the external calling through the vocatio realis and vocatio verbalis, and just then I was called by the inner calling of the gracious Holy Spirit who did strongly appear upon me at the revival meeting on the mountain. After that, I gave up the routine lives of the world, and I was devoting myself to the prayer and reading Scripture in the mountain. Truly I was praying and wrestling with the Scriptures.
After that matter, some day, it was time when I was devoting myself to the prayer and Scripture reading after receiving the grace of the Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus Christ appeared to me in the dream during the sleeping time for a while when prayed and read the Scriptures. At that time, the Lord was coming down along the ridge of the mountain sitting on a donkey, and then getting off the donkey before me and coming near to me. Near to me He asked for the Bible which I was holding. At that time, I was gesturing not to give the Bible to Jesus Christ feeling shy about my reading a little bit of the Old Testament from Genesis to Numbers in the Bible. But the Lord asked for the Bible again, and so I could not help giving the Bible to Him. After the Lord received the Bible, He told me ride on the donkey on which He had come down sitting. And so I got on the donkey obeying His words. And then He ordered me to come down the mountain. And waking from the dream coming down the mountain, I felt the dream clear and have lively remembered that to this day.
At that time, I told the story of the dream to a famous pastor, and he did immediately respond to my question, “To be sure, you would soon become a servant of the Lord.” In addition to the words, he told me an interpretation on the dream, “To be sure, the wisdom of the interpretation on the Bible would be held to you because the Lord took charge of your Bible.” At that time, because I was the early age of 20’s, I could not dream the dream of the servant of God. But at last, I became a servant of the Lord, and have been preaching the Gospel, ministering for the children of God, and teaching the words of God for the students and pastors.
Using the progressive revelation method, God revealed something through the dreams before the Bible was formed as the means of special revelation, and before God said through the prophets of God, and Urim and Thummim. Today, of course, even though God spoke the word of God through the Bible in the illumination of the Holy Spirit, in some cases, God let us know the will of God in the individual special providence through the dream. There are several kinds of dreams, that is, ① the “mixed dream” which is complicatedly shown due to its mixed contents, and so called empty dream, ② the “thought dream” in which the things thinking at the waking hours is shown, ③ the “real dream” that it is actually realized, and ④ the “spiritual dream” which appears the revelation of God (Gen. 20:6; 37:5; 40:5; 41:32; Num. 12:6; 1Kings 3:5; Dan. 2:1; Joel 2:28; Matt. 2:12; 2:19; 2:22; 27:19; Acts 2:17).

하나님의 부르심에 관한 소고 (1)
나는 하나님의 부르심으로 구원을 받았고, 그 후에 주의 종이 되었다. 나는 소년시절에 친구들과 함께 전도를 받아 교회에 다니다가 도중에 한 동안 교회를 다니지 못하고 세상으로 나가 방황하기도 했다. 그 후에 청년시절의 결정적인 시기에 병원에 입원하고 있던 중 주님의 부르심을 받았다. 제2의 부르심(?)이었다. 조직신학적(systematic theological)으로 말하자면, 나는 입원 중의 부르심(vocatio realis)과, 하나님의 말씀을 통하여(vocatio verbalis) 외적 부르심(external calling)을 받았고, 산상부흥성회에서(at the revival meeting on the mountain) 내게 강하게 임하시는 성령의 은혜를 통하여 내적 부르심(inner calling)을 받았다. 그 후에 세상의 모든 것을 포기하고 그곳 산속에서 기도(prayer)와 성경읽기(Scripture reading)에 전념하고 있었다. 정말로 매일같이 열심히 기도하며 성경과 씨름하고 있었다.
그런 일이 있은 후에, 언젠가 성령의 은혜를 받고 산에서 독경에 심취되어 성경읽기와 기도에 전념하고 있을 때였다. 성경을 읽고 기도하다가 잠깐 잠든 사이에 꿈에 주님께서 나타나신 것이다. 주님께서 나귀를 타시고 산 능선을 따라 내려오시다가 산 아래 서있는 내 앞에서 내리시더니 내게 가까이 오시는 것이 아닌가. 내 앞에 오시더니 내가 들고 있던 성경을 달라고 하시는 것이다. 그 당시 나는 구약 민수기까지 밖에 읽지를 못했기 때문에 부끄러워서 성경을 주님께 드리지 않으려는 제스처를 취했지만, 주님께서는 강력하게 달라고 하시는 것이 아닌가. 나는 할 수 없이 그 성경책을 주님께 드렸다. 주님은 그 성경책을 받으시더니 자기가 타고 내려오신 그 나귀위에 올라타라고 하시는 것이 아닌가. 나는 주님의 말씀대로 주님께서 타고 내려오신 그 나귀위에 올라탔다. 그러자 주님께서 나에게 산 아래로 내려가라고 명하시는 것이었다. 그래서 나는 그 나귀를 타고 산을 내려오다가 깨어보니 선명한 꿈으로 오늘날까지 주님의 부르심으로 생생하게 기억되고 있다.
그 때에 어느 유명한 목사님에게 이 꿈 이야기를 했더니 그 목사님께서 지체 없이 “자네는 틀림없이 주의 종이 될 것이네”라고 단언하시면서 덧붙여 “성경책을 주님께 맡겼으니 자네는 틀림없이 지혜가 열릴 것이네”라고 하시는 것이 아닌가. 그 당시 나는 주의 종은 꿈도 꾸지 못했던 20대 초만이었다. 그러나 결국, 그 목사님의 말씀대로 나는 버젓이 주의 종이 되어 복음을 전하고, 목회하고, 가르치는 일에 평생을 이어오고 있는 것이다.
하나님께서는 점진적 계시방법(progressive revelation method)을 통하여 오늘날 특별계시인 성경이 형성되기 전과, 선지자들(prophets)로 말씀하시기 전에, 그리고 우림(Urim)과 둠밈(Thummim)으로 말씀하시기 전에는 꿈들(dreams)을 통하여 계시하셨다. 물론 오늘날에는 우리에게 성령의 조명을 통하여 성경으로 말씀하시지만, 개인적인 특별섭리(individual special providence)로서 경우에 따라 꿈으로 하나님의 뜻을 알려주시기도 하신다. 꿈에는 일반적으로 이것저것 혼합해서 잡다하게 나타나는 꿈, 즉 속된 말로 개꿈인 ① 잡몽(雜夢)과, 무엇을 골똘히 생각하고 있을 때에 꾸게 되는 ② 사몽(思夢)과, 실제로 그 꿈이 현실화되는 ③ 실몽(實夢) 외에 하나님께서 무엇인가 계시하시기 위하여 보여주시는 ④ 현몽(現夢), 즉 영몽(靈夢)이 있는데, 이들 가운데 현몽(appear in a dream) 또는 영몽(spiritual dream)이 하나님의 계시와 부르심이라고 생각 된다(창 20:6; 37:5; 40:5; 41:32; 민 12:6; 왕상 3:5; 단 2:1; 욜 2:28; 마 2:12; 2:19; 2:22; 27:19; 행 2:17). 💗💗💗
