Idealists who do not believe in God attempt to construct a utopia through human strength. However, their results invariably lead to destruction.
The French citizens 18th-century revolution against nobles and clergy sought a society of freedom, equality, and fraternity, but resulted in over 40,000 executions under their new leader Robespierre, with over 1,400 beheaded by guillotine in Paris alone – five nobles daily for a year.
Communists, who consider religion a disease, tried to create a classless society where everyone works collectively for the common good, and people receive fairly, according to their needs. However, this ultimately resulted in bloodshed.
Under Stalin s regime, an estimated 13 million people suffered persecution and death. Mao Zedong killed nearly 23 million before he consolidated his power. Kim Il-Sung of North Korea started the Korean War to establish a united communist country in the peninsula, causing 2 million soldiers and civilians casualties.
This atheist idealism invariably leads to destruction. Humans, inherently flawed, lack the capacity to build a utopia. Attempts to abolish social classes often create new elites, and overthrowing tyranny can inadvertently lead to new dictators.
For this reason, I don¡¯t trust idealistic politicians. Their grandiose language—filled with terms like ¡°ideal¡±, ¡°history¡±, and ¡°revolution¡±—alarms me. Instead, I prefer realists, as they are less likely to bring about devastation on the scale seen with Godless utopian idealists.
