A Biased YouTuber(객관성이 결여된 유튜버)-In Korean/English
‘이춘근 TV’ 구독을 취소했습니다. (이전에 페북을 통해 추천한 적이 있기 때문에, 페북을 통해 이 사실을 알립니다.)
이춘근 박사님은 학자이시라, 국제 외교에 관해 정확한 분석을 하실 수 있는 분이라는 생각이 들어서 페북에 추천했습니다. 그런데 계속 시청해보니, 이 박사님의 정보 소스 선택이 편중되어 있어서 상황 분석이 정확치 않다는 것을 발견했습니다.
중국과의 외교에 관해 분석을 하려면 중국 학자들의 의견도 들어보아야 하는데, 100% 미국 학자들의 저서만 참조합니다. 미국 상황을 바르게 이해하려면, 보수와 진보의 의견을 골고루 귀를 기울여야 하는데, 보수인 폭스 뉴스에만 의존합니다.
2016년 미 대통령 선거에서 거의 모든 여론조사가 힐러리 여사가 당선될 것이라고 예상했을 때 이 박사님은 트럼프 대통령의 당선을 예측했고, 실제로 그렇게 되었습니다. 본인은 이 사실에 큰 자부심을 갖고 있는 것 같습니다.
다가오는 미 대선에 거의 모든 여론 조사 결과가 바이든 당선을 예고하는데, 이 박사님은 이번에도 트럼트 대통령이 압승할 것이라고 말합니다. 그러나 사실 양당 열렬 지지층들은 부동이기 때문에, 대통령 당선은 중도에 속한 사람들에 의해 결정됩니다. 그런데 2016년에 트럼프를 찍었던 중도층이 금년에는 반 트럼프로 돌아섰습니다. 4년 전에는 트럼프를 잘 몰라서 기대가 있었지만, 이제는 그가 어떤 사람인지 실체를 보았기 때문입니다. 현재 바이든에게 투표하겠다는 사람들의 다수는, 바이든이 좋아서가 아니라, 트럼프가 싫어서입니다.
트럼프가 재선에 성공하리라는 이 박사님의 분석 근거를 보면 이런 변화를 전연 반영하고 있지 않습니다. 미국의 상황 정보를 폭스 뉴스를 통해서만 얻기 때문인 것 같습니다. 방송인이 좋아하는 정치인과 정당이 있을 수 있습니다. 그러나 상황을 분석할 때에는 객관적이어야 하는데, 이분은 객관성을 상실해서 더 이상 신뢰할 수 없다는 결론이 내려져서, 구독을 취소했습니다.
많은 크리스천들이 이 박사님의 분석을 절대적으로 믿고 따르는 것 같아서, 제 의견을 말씀드립니다.

There is a YouTuber named Dr. Chun-Geun Lee who gives his opinions on international politics and how they relate to Korea. I’d recommended him before on Facebook, but I unsubscribed to his YouTube channel several days ago.
He is a scholar with a degree in political science, but I find his sources to be biased and his information skewed. In order to objectively critique Chinese government policies, I believe he should consult Chinese scholars as well as Western ones. Instead he quotes only from books authored by American scholars. To accurately understand what is happening in the US, he should consult both conservative and liberal media, but he seems to only watch Fox news.
He predicted Donald Trump’s victory in the 2016 US presidential election when almost all the news networks declared definitively that Hillary would win. He is very proud of this fact. He now predicts President Trump will win again in the coming election.
Elections are usually decided by swing states. Trump carried many of those states in the 2016 election, but many people who voted for him then are now against him after getting to know the true Trump. I suspect a large number will vote for Biden, not because they like him but because they hate Trump.
Dr. Lee’s analysis on the current political situation in the US does not reflect this change of perspective in voters, probably because he only watches Fox news. When someone loses the capability to objectively analyze situations, he is no longer trustworthy. This is the reason I unsubscribed to his YouTube channel.
Korean Christians seem to follow his word so uncritically that I felt I need to express my opinion on him.
