한국에 들어왔습니다( I’m in Korea!)- 영어/한글
Now I am in Korea! I left Houston on Tuesday, April 7 and arrived at Incheon Airport on Thursday, April 9 by way of Los Angeles.
I have been staying in Korea for 3 months every spring and another 3 months every fall for house church ministries. A couple of months ago when the Corona virus was rampant in Korea, I wanted to come to Korea to “share in suffering” with the house church pastors here. Ironically, the tables have now turned as Korea is considered a safe place while the US is the more dangerous nation. ^^;
Before I left Houston, I formalized my will through an attorney. It’s not that I suspect I might contract Covid-19 and die in Korea. ^^; My wife and I personally drew wills a long time ago, and I simply officialized it on this occasion.
Before boarding at LA and at the arrival at Inchon, I was checked for fever. At the Inchon airport, people with fever are transferred to medical facilities, and those who don’t have fever had to fill up 5~6 forms and promise to commit to two weeks of self-isolation before leaving the airport.
All my revival meetings scheduled in March and April were canceled, but those from May to July were not. The pastors who invited me want to wait until the last minute before they decide whether it would be necessary to cancel.
When I don’t have speaking engagements, I am going to meet house church pastors, individually or in groups, to help them with their ministries. (Covid-19 is ebbing in Korea, so the government allows for small groups to meet, unlike in the US where drastic social distancing measures are still necessary.)

4월 7일(화) 오후에 휴스턴을 출발하여 LA 경유하여 9일(목) 새벽에 인천 공항에 도착하여 지금 아파트에 들어와서 짐을 풀었습니다.
저는 봄에 3개월, 가을에 3개월, 한국에 나와서 사역을 합니다. 몇 달 전 코로나바이러스가 창궐해서 한국이 위험한 지역으로 간주 될 때, 한국 가정교회 목회자들과 더불어 '고난에 동참한다'는 의미로 평소처럼 한국에 나올 결심을 했습니다. 그런데 이제는 한국이 코로나 안전 지역이 되고, 미국이 위험 지역이 되어버렸네요. ^^; (한 두 달 전에는 미국에서 한국 가는 비행기가 텅텅 비었다는데, 요즈음에는 빈 자리 하나 없이 꽉 차고, 오히려 한국에서 미국 오는 비행기가 텅텅 빈답니다. ^^;)
사람 일은 모르니까, 유언장을 변호사를 통하여 정식으로 작성하여 공증을 받았습니다. 한국에서 바이러스 감염이 되어 죽을 것 같아서 가 아니라, ^^; 오래 전에 이미 작성한 것을 이번 기회에 법적 처리를 한 것입니다.
엘에이서 비행기 갈아타기 전에, 또 인천 공항에 도착한 작후에, 발열 체크를 받았습니다. 열이 있는 사람은 진료 기관으로 보내지고, 열이 없는 사람은 코로나 바이러스 증상 여부를 병역 당국에서 하루에 두 번 점검할 수 있는 앱을 휴대 전화에 깔고, 2주 자가 격리를 약속하면 집에 보내줍니다. 사흘 이내에 저는 가까운 진료소에 가서 검진을 받고 서울 사직동 아파트에서 2주간 자가 격리를 하게 될 것입니다.
3월과 4월 부흥집회 스케줄은 모두 취소되었지만, 5월~7월 스케줄은 아직 살아있습니다. 초청한 교회 목사님들이 취소할 때 취소하더라도 부흥집회 직전 주일까지 상황을 지켜보고 싶다고 하기 때문입니다. ^^; 공식 집회가 없을 때에는, 가정교회 목회자들과 개인적으로 혹은 그룹으로 만나 놀기도 하고, 가정교회 사역에 도움을 주고자 합니다.
