갑자기 휴스턴에 돌아왔습니다(I am back to Houston)-영어/한글
The day after I finished the required two weeks of self-quarantining upon arriving in Korea, my daughter Christine emailed me saying Mom is too weak to take care of herself. She said she asked Mom to stay with her family, but Mom refused.
As some of you may know, my wife has been battling ovarian cancer for the last 24 years. Although she had a few crises along the way, she has lived a relatively normal and healthy life. We credit this not only to the excellent treatment she receives at MD Anderson Cancer Research Center, but also to the fervent prayers of church members, family, friends, and house church pastors and their wives.
She has recently lost her appetite, is losing weight and is lacking energy. I had believed she would be able to take care of herself without my help for the three months I planned to be in Korea, but it became clear that I needed to return.
I canceled all my scheduled events in Korea and am back to Houston. I apologize to all the pastors who had planned events that I canceled, but thank them for responding with love and understanding. I would very much appreciate your continued prayers for my wife.

한국 도착하여 2주 자가 격리를 끝내고 막 자유의 몸이 된 지난 주 토요일에 휴스턴 딸에게서 연락이 왔습니다. 엄마가 도저히 혼자 지낼 수가 없는 모양이라고. 자기 집에 와서 같이 있자고 했는데, 거부한다고.
아시는 분은 아시지만 아내는 난소암으로 24년 간 투병을 하고 있습니다. 암이 발견되던 당시 이미 몸에 다 퍼져있었는데, 중간에 재발하는 위기도 있었지만, 항암 치료와 수많은 분들, 특히 가정교회 목사님들과 사모님들의 기도로 지금까지 잘 지내오고 있었습니다. 그런데 최근에 아내가 입맛이 없어서 잘 먹지를 못하고, 기력이 없습니다.
석 달 정도는 제 도움 없이 혼자 지낼 수 있지 않을까 싶어서 한국에 나갔는데, 역시 혼자서는 힘든 모양입니다. 그래서 갑자기 한국을 떠나 휴스턴으로 돌아왔습니다.
석 달 간의 집회를 계획해 놓았다가 시작도 못하고 돌아와서, 모임과 만남을 준비하고 기다렸던 목회자님들에게 너무나도 죄송했습니다. 그러나 이럴 때 아내 곁에 있어주어야 한다며 이해하고 격려해 주어서 너무나도 고마웠습니다.
언제인가 가서 이번에 취소된 집회를 꼭 인도해 드리겠습니다.
