성경적인 교회를 꿈꾸십니까? (Why Did Jesus Build His Church?)- 영어/한글
I believe all pastors have the desire to build a Biblical church, but many don’t seem to know how.
If you decide to pursue this desire by simply copying the form or practice of churches in the New Testament, you would quickly be deterred. The churches described in the New Testament are actually quite different from one another. Even the titles of church leaders are different. Leaders of churches comprised of mostly Jews were called elders, while those with a Greek majority called their leaders overseers. Even a superficial reading of the New Testament calls attention to significant differences between the Jerusalem Church, the Antioch Church and the Corinthian Church. Those who desire to restore the New Testament, then, must aim to recover the spirit of the New Testament churches, not their forms or practices.
The most essential principle to recover is Jesus’ motivation to start the Church. Jesus gave the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19-20 to His disciples who then built the foundation of His Church. In the original Greek text, these verses include four verbs - go, baptize, make disciples and teach. Only one is in the imperative tense, and the other three are participles. The imperative command is to make disciples. Jesus wanted His church to be a place where disciples are made. He specifically instructed how to achieve this - by going, baptizing and teaching.
Pastors of house churches try to be faithful to this command and strive to achieve this purpose of the Church. They try to reach those who haven’t heard the gospel, helping them receive Christ as their Savior and Lord, then train them to become disciples of Jesus. It is not just one of many goals in their ministry; it is the only goal. Other activities and programs are simply the means with which that goal may be reached.

모든 목회자들에게는 성경적인 교회를 세우고 싶은 소원이 있다고 생각합니다. 그러나 구체적으로 어떻게 해야할지 잘 모르는 것 같습니다.
성경적인 교회를 세우겠다고 해서 신약 성경에 기록된 교회의 외형적인 모습을 재현하려고 하면 혼동에 빠집니다. 왜냐하면 신약성경에 등장하는 교회들이 서로 다르기 때문입니다. 예를 들면 지도자 명칭도 유대인들이 주류인 교회에서는 장로라고 불렀고, 헬라 사람들이 주류인 교회에서는 감독이라고 불렀습니다. 피상적으로 성경을 읽어봐도, 예루살렘 교회와 안디옥 교회와 고린도 교회 사이에 차이가 있는 것을 감지할 수 있습니다.
성경적인 교회를 세우려면 형태나 조직보다, 신약교회의 정신을 잡아야 합니다. 가장 중요하게 잡아야 할 정신이, 교회 존재 목적입니다. 예수님께서 교회를 세우신 목적입니다. 오늘날목회자들이 목회에 피곤을 느끼고, 평신도 지도자들 사이에 갈등이 끊이지 않고, 교인들이 소비자가 되어가는 이유는.교회 존재 목적을 상실했기 때문이라고 생각합니다.
교회 존재 목적은, 대사명이라고 불리우는 마태 28:19~20에서 찾을 수 있다고 생각합니다. 이 명령은 예수님께서 승천하시기 직전에, 앞으로 교회를 세워가야 할 사도들에게 유언처럼 분부하셨습니다. 이 구절에 동사가 4개가 있는데, ‘가서’, ‘제자로 삼아’, ‘세례를 주고’, ‘가르쳐 지키게 하라’인데, 헤라어 원전에서 명령형은 ‘제자로 삼아’ 하나입니다. 나머지 3개는 분사입니다. 교회 존재 목적은 비신자에게 가서, 세례를 주고, 가르쳐서, 궁극적으로 예수님의 제자를 만드는 것입니다. (가정교회에서는 이를 간추려서 ‘영혼 구원하여 제자 만드는 것’이라고 말합니다.).
어떤 교회에서는 영혼 구원은 되는데(비신자 전도) 제자가 안 만들어집니다. 어떤 교회는 제자는 만들어지는데(성경 공부를 통하여) 비신자 전도가 안 됩니다. 가정교회는 복음에 관심 없는 사람들에게 전도하여, 이들이 예수님을 영접하고 훈련을 받아 목자(가정교회 리더)로 세워지는 것을 목표로 하고 있습니다. (제자를 삼는다는 애매한 목표보다 비신자에게 전도하는 목자로 만든다는, 구체적인 목표를 세웠습니다.) 가정교회의 조직과 운영과 재정은 이 목표를 달성하는데 전적으로 맞추어져 있습니
