PHILOSOPHICAL AND THEOLOGICAL FRAMEWORK OF THE CONCEPTS AND EXISTENCE OF GOD
HISTORICAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL SURVEY
Hebrew Origin
God appeared Himself as Almighty God to Abraham, but He did first name Himself Jehovah God to Moses. In other words, God first appeared in His existence at the ages of Moses (Ex.6:2-3; 3:14; 17:1).
Hebrew concept of God s existence meant, in a word, the concept of being Himself saying the Bible: I AM THAT I AM (Ex. 3:14). This is the concept of existence in which there have been transcendent and immanent concept, and concept and personal concept on the other side.
This concept of God s existence fundamentally has been the great supposition of the Christianity up to modern ages. This must be unchangeable in any cases.
When the doctrine of God must be the basis and the starting point of Christian theology, it can build up the man of God in this world.
The Criticism on Tillich s Concept Of God

All his works on the systematic theology are an existential philosophical understanding using the framework of the traditional positions, and a sort of rewriting on the Christian dogma with a new idea in all his way. He has his starting point with the Method of Correlation through the existential philosophy. He emphasized the correlation between the philosophy and theology. For him, philosophy asks the question about ontology, while theology answers that question.
He asserts there are two kinds of theology, namely kerygmatic theology and apologetic theology. The former is concerned about proclamation of Gospel, the latter about the existential question of man. For him, the mission of theology makes the work to be correlated between the existential questions of man and revelatory answers, kerygmas.
In a word, his theology is a sort of philosophical theology using the method of the correlation which gives the revelatory answers to the existential questions. Especially, it is crucial to ask the existential question of being of God as well as the being of man. For him, being of God could not be helped denying because it has the relative conception.
And so he says that God cannot be a being because the being must be the relative one. Because God is not being but a Ground of Being making the being to be. According to this theory, God of Tillich is nothing more than impersonal God. His God is not so much the personal God as a symbolic God. The writer is going to criticize on this problem in this section of his dissertation. 💟💟💟

하나님께서는 아브라함에게 자신을 “전능하신 하나님”으로 나타내셨으나, 모세에게는 처음으로 자신을 “여호와 하나님”으로 명명하셨다. 다시 말하면, 하나님께서 처음으로 모세 시대에 자신의 존재를 나타내셨다(Ex. 6:2~3.; 3:14; 17:1).
하나님의 존재 개념은 한마디로 성경에서 ”나는 스스로 있는 자“(Ex. 3:14)라고 말씀하고 있는 ”스스로 있는 자“의 개념을 의미했다. 이것은 초월적이며 내재적 개념을 가지고 있는 존재의 개념이며, 다른 편에서 보면 인격적 개념을 의미했다.
하나님의 존재 개념은 근본적으로, 현대에 이르기까지 ”기독교의 중요한 전제“이다. 이것은 어떠한 경우에서도 변함이 없어야 한다.
하나님에 관한 교리(신론)가 기독교 신학의 기초와 출발점이 되어야 할 때 이 세상에서 하나님의 사람을 세울 수 있게 된다.

조직신학의 그의 모든 글들은 전통적인 입장의 구조를 이용하고 있는 실존주의 철학적 이해이며, 그의 모든 방식으로 새로운 아이디어와 함께 기독교 도그마에 관한 일종의 개서이다. 그는 실존주의 철학을 통한 ‘상관성의 방법”을 그의 출발점으로 하고 있다. 그는 철학과 신학의 상관관계를 강조했다. 그에게 있어서 철학은 존재론에 관하여 질문하는 한편, 신학이 그 질문에 대답하는 형식이다.
그는 두 종류의 신학, 즉 게리그마 신학과 변증 신학이 있다고 주장한다. 전자는 복음의 선포에 관한 것이고, 후자는 인간의 실존적 질문에 관한 것이다. 그에게 있어서 신학의 사명은 인간에 대한 실존적 질문과 계시적 답변, 케리그마 사이에 상관관계에 대한 작업이다.
한마디로, 그의 신학은 일종의 철학적 신학으로, 실존적 물음에 대한 계시적 답변을 제공하는 상관관계의 방법을 사용하고 있다. 특히 인간 존재는 물론, 하나님의 존재에 대한 실존적 질문에 대해 묻는 것이 핵심이다. 그에게 있어서 하나님의 존재는 상대적 개념이기 때문에 부정하지 않을 수 없다.
그래서 그는 존재라는 것이 상대적이기 때문에 하나님은 존재한다고 할 수 없다고 말한다. 하나님은 존재가 아니므로, 존재를 존재케 하는 “존재의 지반”이다. 이 이론에 따르면, 틸리히의 하나님은 비인격적 하나님에 지나지 않는다. 그의 하나님은 인격적 하나님이라기보다 상징적 하나님이다. 필자는 논문에서 이 문제를 비판하려고 한다. 💟💟💟
